Flatland is an experimental short dance film co-directed by Alireza Keymanesh and Amir Pousti, produced by 33 projects, composed by Peter Pir Hoseinloo in addition to the participation of a hundred female dancers in 2017.



 


The movie is made based on a book of the same name written by Edwin Abbott in 1884 and it is about the various dimensions of the universe and the incapability of humankind in perceiving what is beyond the power of his perception as well as the concepts such as giving birth and collective living.



 


Flatland first had been made for a collective exhibition curated by Golbarg Barzin, and after that, its global journey initiated, so that, up to now it has been screened in more than 30 festivals, biennials and different artistic events throughout the world. During the years 2017 and 2018 it has won different international awards from “Brussels Independent Film Festival”, “Sydney World Film Festival”, “European Film Festival Mainstream & Underground” in Moscow, “Calcutta Cult Film Festival” in India, and “Feel the Reel Festival” in England, and Master of Art Film Festival in Bulgaria.


In the future Flatland is going to be screened on the walls of the urban buildings.
